About my home.
I live in a semi-detached house with a large garden. In the house I have areas for children to play and areas for creative and messy play. My garden has; a patio area for wheeled toys, a grass area for games needing space, and a dedicated play area at the bottom. Please visit the gallery for photos.
Living in my home is myself, my husband, our two girls (school aged) and our two small dogs.
About me.
I began working with children who have disabilities and special educational needs in 1999. Since then I have worked in various aspects of childcare including : Lovaas Therapist, Respite Carer, Playscheme Manager, Nursery Nurse room leader and assistant deputy, Nanny and a Childminder. As well as these roles I worked as a local authority Childcare Development coordinator. This entailed me helping people to become childminders, supporting local childminders to achieve excellent practice and offering training. In addition I have taught level two and three Childcare and Health and Social Care at a college.
I have experience working with children from all ages from newborn to 18. I'm experienced in working with children who have SEN/D and a variety of medical conditions. I also have a basic grasp of MAKATON.
I absolutely love working with children and I have a huge passion to help children to discover themselves.
I am registered with Ofsted under EY544949. I am also a member of PACEY. I have a (BA) HONS degree in Childhood Studies and a PGCE in Post Compulsory Education. I hold a level 2 in children and young people’s mental health. I have my Paediatric First aid, DBS check, food hygiene and Safeguarding training up-to-date.
